This past week my sister Kari and I were all about knitting. We tried a new project and I put in some hours on Lucy's pink fizz blanket hoping to finish it by Christmas.
Kari kept busy knitting this bag from a pattern published by "Two Old Bags" ,
using Mauch Chunky 100% wool yarn. Here are a couple of photos of the knitted bag before felting.
I understood from her muttering that the pattern was confusing to follow at times, even for an experienced knitter like my sister!
After machine felting the bag, you can see that it shrunk significantly. I also see a loaf of banana bread in my future.
We're confused about why the handles wound up where they did, but overall I'm pretty impressed with how it turned out!
It's up to me to embellish it, and at the moment, I'm leaning toward embroidery. Maybe some french knot flowers with running stitch stems and leaves?
