Block printing is something I've always wanted to learn. A few years ago, I tried some wood and linocut and basically found out that it is *not* an activity for people who drink a lot of coffee. Watching this video, I realize that my cheap tools look totally different than what is being used here. Perhaps I'll buy the stuff and try again.
I'm going to start with rubber stamps.

You can buy the stuff on line but I recommend sooner or later you visit the store in Portland. Serious woodcut in this country has an important center in the Pac NW. Also join the Baren Forum. In both cases you will discover a host of decent and helpful people. Good tools are vital. The best are Japanese in general. Also critical is keeping them sharpened. The Mr. will show you how.
