Driving home the other day, I took a spontaneous right turn instead of the left that would take me towards home. It's my favorite time of year - calves are finding their feet in field nurseries all over the county.
I've always loved cows. They are peaceful and predictable - but interested. The gals watched me, the crazy lady with the camera, concerned that I would wake the babies.
No worries, mama. The sun is gentle and warm and the only sound in the valley is the raven.
It's nap time in the nursery. The babies lifted their heads to look at me...
I love those babies!! There's a small herd at the end of our road and they sing to me when I'm on my morning trot. Love your description of them as peaceful and predictable but interested--so true!
