We've done a lot of work on our house this year, and we thought it looked especially pretty this Christmas. I just thought I'd share a bit of our Christmas Eve.
I had dinner for ten. The menu was:
Baked Brie with Spiced Pecans in Balsamic Caramel Sauce.
Prime Rib Roast with Horseradish Sauce;
Smoked Pork Chops with Cranberry Sauce;
Salmon with Lemon Caper Butter.
Spinach Salad with Goat Cheese, Tangerine, and Pomegranate.
Stuffing; Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Potato Crumble.
Pecan Pie with Fresh Whipped Cream.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pillows.
The menu seemed worth a whole bunch of capital letters.
This year was different.
We did not go to church.
We wrote everyone in the family a check.
Except my sister, who got a heated cat bed from Delta Airlines SkyMall.
I did not call my mother.
I only managed to send about 10 Christmas cards, which is really stupid, since I had "Noel 2010" printed on them.
We wore jeans.
We stayed up late on Christmas Eve laughing and playing cards with our friends and family.
We slept late on Christmas Day and then went visiting.
We celebrated our 6th anniversary with our friends by going snowshoeing in Glacier National Park.
I think it was one of the nicest Christmases I've ever had.
What a cozy, delicious Christmas, your house is lovely! Snowshoeing is the best, it makes me feel like I have super powers.

Like!!!
Your home is beautiful. My husband's dream is to own a log home in Montana or Northern Wisconsin he would love it.
Your Christmas sounds so peaceful and perfect. Sometimes we all could use a break from the family drama.
Have a Happy New Year.

Yeah. I want to click the "like" button too. At least you called your sister. I bet she would have appreciated a check too, but that's ok. Maybe next year you can make prime rib for us, too. It sounds like it was a very fancy dinner.
